How do you make a spectacular bouquet yourself? Which pot does your wild plant deserve? We answer these questions in this mini floral design workshop, made for enthusiasts.

‘Life is about using the whole box of crayons’. This season, bouquets and plants are particularly striking and eccentric. Think maximalism, but with an artful edge. This Trend takes the most cheerful and colourful florals and creates something that’s optimistic and Instagram-worthy.

Don’t worry about matching patterns and colours, as with the right vision, everything will come together nicely. Make an impact with your flower and plant design language, something that invites fun and creativity. How do you do this? Push the boundaries by mixing up shapes, colours and textures: from natural to faux, fresh to dried. There are no rules here.

Stacking gerberas is like building Lego. You get a satisfying result and the possibilities are endless. Get experimental by choosing different heights with the flowers, and attach them to a flexible branch with binding wire.

The unusual qualities in the leaves of these florals give this bouquet a boost. See how the striking arrangement can look like a vase with ears.

Medinilla Dolce Vita

Plant stand private

Create a simple plant stand topped with a plate as a pedestal for your plant, then it suddenly becomes a real statement piece. The same can be done for flowers, just use a piece of chicken wire instead of a vase to support a bouquet, then the possibilities to transform your space are endless.

4.

A pot can be a work of art itself, and can change the style of your plant completely. Opt for an abstract shape that uplifts the beauty of the leaves, and find unusual pairings. Put your plants with sharp leaves in a pot with soft curves, and your more delicate plants in a vessel with a harsher silhouette. Tip: create an installation with plenty of plants in different pots at different heights.

Plants
Medinilla Magnifica, Philodendron Philodendron Pedatum Red squamiferum, Hypoestes Sanguinolenta pink polkadot, Splash select white, Fittonia pink forest flame

Why not put your plants in one pot? You can mix colours, shapes and patterns. Be aware: make sure to choose plants that have the same care levels with watering and daylight requirements. You can make this great planter yourself from bamboo sticks glued around a smooth pot or bucket, and then paint them pink.
